What We Treat

Camulos House is a 6-bed primary mental health residential facility, in a pristine Redlands location. Camulos House doubles as our crisis intervention unit, so we have the ability to treat high level acuity clients and provide them top-notch medical care in a comforting environment. At this facility we specialize in providing comprehensive care for mental health challenges that ragne from treatment-resistant depression, bipolar disorder types 1 and 2, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, active self-harm, active psychosis, and active suicidal ideation.

Our program offers safe, compassionate support for individuals who use self-injury as a way to cope.

How We Treat

Our clinical approach focuses on treating each client as an individual, and providing them with personalized treatment specific to their situation. Our 4 pillars of treatment include medication management, ADL and living skills, evidence-based therapies, and holistic therapies. Since this a residential level of care, clients get to settle into a full yet comforting schedule that is both personalized and adaptive, fostering emotional, cognitive, and behavioral growth throughout the treatment process. Our modalities include CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, family therapy, art therapy, yoga therapy, and equine therapy at our lovely horse ranch located nearby.

4 Pillars of Treatment

1

Stabilization & Medication Management

Involves weekly sessions with a psychiatrist, fostering a new understanding of medication while creating a personalized plan that supports long-term stability and symptom management. These sessions also provide education and guidance so clients feel confident and informed in their treatment journey.

2

ADL & Living Skills

Draws on 20 years of collective experience, helping clients develop fundamental coping patterns for a healthy lifestyle and building routines that promote independence and daily confidence. Clients leave with practical tools that translate directly into everyday situations, improving quality of life.

3

Therapy

Utilizing evidence-based techniques like DBT and CBT, clients benefit from 20 hours of weekly clinical programming and personalized sessions with their therapist, encouraging deeper self-awareness and measurable progress over time. This therapeutic approach also strengthens resilience and equips clients to handle future challenges with confidence.

4

Holistic Neuroplasticity

This inclusive environment aids individuals on their mental health journey, emphasizing shared experiences, mutual support, and fostering neuroplasticity for enhanced cognitive resilience and healthier long-term thought patterns. The program also integrates mindfulness, community, and lifestyle practices to reinforce positive changes in the brain.

What the Program is Like

At Camulos House, we do a great job at ensuring that clients are kept busy on their healing journey day-to-day, yet have ample time to process all of the amazing work that they are doing. Clients wake up around 7am, complete their ADLs and receive their medication, and eat breakfast at 7:30am. There are 2 groups, one at 9am and one at 11am, that vary daily. Sometimes clients will partake in group process therapy, other times they will enjoy an interactive activity like cooking, baking, or art. Lunch is served at 12:30pm, followed by 2 more groups at 2pm and at 4pm. Before dinner daily clients engage in a health and wellness activity, followed by dinner at 6pm. Clients get phone time from 6:30-7:00pm daily, allowing them an opportunity to check in with loved ones while not detracting from their process. Night medications are handed out, and evenings conclude with a meditation to ground in everything accomplished from the day. Delicious and nutritious meals are prepared by our private chef, and most groups take place in the house, aside from outings and equine therapy. Since Camulos House is a 6-bed facility, groups are small, intimate, and clients receive lots of care and attention. It’s beautiful to see the friendships that form among the clients, as they support one another on their journey. These relationships help clients to succeed at Camulos House and beyond.

Why Choose This Facility?

Camulos House is a unique mental health residential facility since it also serves as a crisis intervention unit. Often, we can take clients directly from hospital settings where they are struggling, to the comforting sanctuary that Camulos is, without compromising on the level of care that they will receive. This, combined with the fact that we are in network with most major commercial insurance companies, makes Camulos a rare gem in the treatment world. Client profiles vary due to the wide range of diagnoses that we treat there, but we have the ability to handle medical complications, plus, we accept pets 🙂

Who Thrives Here?

Camulos sees a wide range of clients struggling with various things, yet the combining factor is an underlying desire to get the help they need. Any client that has an open mind and is ready to receive the help that we love to provide, will thrive there. The staff at Camulos definitely stands out – they are all experienced, top-notch in their respective roles, and above all, caring individuals that go above and beyond to help the clients succeed.
